Brett is a registered Psychologist with over 12 years of experience in clinical counselling and couples therapy. As well as his status as a registered Psychologist, Brett has completed his full Certification in Gottman Marital and Relationship Therapy, and has also undertaken both the Externship and Core Skills training in Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy. Gottman Therapy and Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy are the leading approaches in the treatment of couples. Brett is also a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.

In the treatment of couples, Brett’s specific areas of interest include:

  • Managing conflict and repairing the damage caused by long-term unmanaged conflict
  • Building emotional connection, closeness, intimacy and friendship
  • Trauma (for the couple and for individuals within a relationship)
  • Sexual health and dysfunction
  • Couples recovering following affairs and betrayals

In his personal time, Brett enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, a range of outdoor activities and tending to his veggie garden. He also loves travelling and has spent time venturing through Europe, Africa, and many parts of Asia and Australia.

Brett values the relationships he builds with clients. He believes that when dealing with couples, he is present to be a guide, or safe haven, to support couples to improve their own relationship. He aims to deliver a high quality service to ensure measurable and lasting outcomes.
