Psychologists are able to provide a diagnosis of ADHD, however we do not prescribe medication. If a diagnosis of adult ADHD is made, we recommend you seek a GP-referral to a psychiatrist for medication (if desired).

Although psychologists do not prescribe medication, having an existing diagnosis can save time if you are considering engaging a psychiatrist. Some psychiatrists ask for a prior assessment with a psychologist before your psychiatry appointment.

If possible, questionnaires about ADHD-like behaviours are also completed by someone who knew you in childhood and someone who knows you currently “informants”.

A computer-administered test (QbCheck) that provides objective data regarding attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. The test is completed remotely and requires access to a computer with a web camera. The test typically takes approximately 30 minutes.
